The description that how the wavelength of a wave changes if the wave slows down but its frequency does not change.
Answer to Problem 13R
The wavelength of a wave decreases if the wave slows down but its frequency does not change.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Wavelength is inversely proportional to frequency.
If the frequency remains unchanged and the wave slows down then the wavelength of wave decreases.
If the speed remains constant then for smaller wavelengths the frequency will be higher and for larger wavelength, frequency will be smaller.
Conclusion:
The wavelength of a wave decreases if the wave slows down but its frequency does not change.
