If (x,y) is any point on the curve and the two fixed points (foci) are (c,0) , then the difference of (x,y) from the two fixed points (c,0) is constant (2a) .

  (x+c)2+(y0)2+(xc)2+(y0)2=2ax2a2+y2a2c2=1[b2=a2c2]

Now,

The distance between two foci =2c

From question,

  2c=102c2=102c=5

And

  2a=122a2=122a=6

  b2=a2c2b2=6252b2=3625b2=11

The equation of ellipse is

  x2a2+y2a2c2=1x2a2y2b2=1x236+y211=1

The standard form of a ellipse is

  (xh)2a2+(yk)2b2=1

  (h,k) is the center of the ellipse.

Rewrite the given equation.
