- What is the purpose of the study? (one sentence) Experiment 1: The purpose of the article is whether retroactive interference affects recognition memory, in other words, whether context dependent learning is valid. Experiment 2: To prove that not having a disruption delay in experiment one was not a limitation to the experimental design. (Hypothesis and Results - for both experiments [four total sentences, two for each experiment]) - What is the hypothesis? (one sentence) Experiment 1: Information learned in one environment will be best recalled in the same environment as opposed to a different environment. Experiment 2: A disruption delay in the time learned and the time tested will show no difference in the number of words learned. - What were the primary findings? (one sentence) Experiment 1: When compared to results of recall when learned and recalled in different locations, recall results in the same environment as the learning environment were significantly better. Experiment 2: There was no difference in those who had the disruption delay and with those who did not, and they actually performed worse than those in experiment 1. (Limitations) - List one limitation of the study noted by authors. The location was chosen by the subjects rather than the experimenters. - List one limitation of the study you found (most important! think critically here). Do not use the sample chosen or the sample size. That's almost always an issue and doesn't require critical thinking. The temperature of the water (or differences in temperatures) could affect how many words were retained and repeated in the different scenarios.
