There were important aspects of Operation Bootstrap. The first allowed American
industries to relocate to the island. Then, the island implemented a school curriculum
similar to the United States, it implemented English-learning courses. Lastly, it caused
the emigration of Puerto Ricans to the states, including New York and Florida.

The Taft-Harley Act of 1947 restricted labor activism and anticommunist dispositions.

ownership for the poor?
The 500-acre Law stated that corporations could not own more than 500 acres of Puerto
Rican land. This law helped make sure that no one took too much land and allowed for
the ownership of the land by the poor.
