2.3 Assignment Dr. James Dupree Ethical/Legal Aspects of Mgmt (MGMT-512-01E)
I have read and understand the plagiarism policy as outlined in the syllabus and the sections in the Student Bulletin relating to the IWU Honesty/Cheating Policy. By affixing this statement to the title page of my paper, I certify that I have not cheated or plagiarized in the process of completing this assignment. If it is found that cheating and/or plagiarism did take place in the writing of this paper, I understand the possible consequences of the act/s, which could include expulsion from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Integrity
Introduction In a society filled with ambition and rivalry, two essential values frequently stand out: integrity and humility. These are not merely buzzwords; they are the core elements of a powerful
character. Our moral compass is built around integrity, which is the uncompromising commitment to truth and ethical ideals. It directs us to make morally sound choices that are just and in line with our principles. Humility, on the other hand, reminds us that we do not know all the solutions. It encourages an open-minded mindset that enables us to interact effectively and learn from others.
Integrity and humility work together to create a powerful balance. While humility enables us to consider many viewpoints and come up with creative solutions, integrity guarantees that we approach problems with honesty and fairness. This combination is not only necessary for personal development but also for developing trust and achieving success in all spheres of life, especially the intricate world of business.
Brief Overview of the Questions Answered
The questions examined many facets of humility and integrity, emphasizing how these traits show up in your relationships with other people. The assessment questions things like being honest, sticking to your word, overcoming obstacles, and acknowledging the accomplishments of
others. With a strong focus on integrity and moral behavior throughout, I emphasized the importance
of valuing ethical conduct and aiming for honesty and openness in my replies. My response to the assessment shows that I am committed to upholding your ideals and standards. It also
Integrity
demonstrates how much I respect other people's opinions, listen to them, and consider their contributions. Based on the assessment, I have a solid foundation for integrity because of my honesty, transparency, and ethical decision-making.
Working together, being open to listening, considering different points of view, and elevating
the accomplishments of others are all ways to develop collaborative skills. I also have a positive outlook and recognize the value of feedback and opportunities for progress.
Areas for Improvement
Although my responses demonstrate that I understand these qualities, it would be even more valuable to my self-reflection if I could provide specific examples of when I actually used them. Everyone has biases that may have an unintentional influence on their judgment. Examining my personal prejudices and how they may influence my decisions can be a useful practice.
Significance of Integrity and Humility in the Business World
The success of the business world requires certain qualities that affect several different areas.
Being honest and fair in my decision-making, adhering to rules and regulations, and projecting trustworthiness are all examples of integrity. This reduces both legal and ethical concerns. Being humble allows me to accept the ideas of people, learn from them, and form long-lasting friendships. Long-term collaborations, a good reputation, and eventually sustained economic success all depend on this trust.

This week's Discussion involves the controversial subject of employee lie detector testing at work. A polygraph is probably the most well-known type of lie detector. The Employee Polygraph Protection Act of 1988 (EPPA) 29 U.S.C. 2001 strictly limits the ability of private-sector employers to use any device to make a diagnostic opinion as to the honesty or dishonesty of an individual. Under EPPA, employers may not:
require or request any employee or job applicant to take a lie detector test, or discharge, discipline, or discriminate against an employee or job applicant for refusing to take a test.
use or inquire about the results of a lie detector test or discharge or discriminate against an employee or job applicant on the basis of the results of a test or for filing a complaint or for participating in a proceeding under EPPA.
Despite these prohibitions, limited exceptions allow employers to administer polygraph tests, but not other forms of lie detector…

A letter sent to Wilson by the tournament rules committee chairman and obtained by CBC News states, "All players must be of North American indigenous ancestry/bloodlines i.e. 1/8th First Nations ancestry."
'Extremely insulting'
"We saw it as extremely insulting," Josiah's father, Dr. Don Wilson, told CBC News. "It's upholding that abhorrent notion that blood quantum or DNA or birth is what defines us as indigenous people, and it absolutely is not."
Wilson is a Calgary obstetrician and status Indian from the Heiltsuk First Nation. He was working in Haiti in the 1990s when he adopted Josiah, then five months old.
