Leadership in Global Context

Introduction
In the dynamic landscape of contemporary business, the quintessence of leadership is
increasingly recognized as a pivotal determinant of organizational success (Smith & Johnson,
2020). This reflective essay is my exploratory journey into my own leadership capabilities,
anchored by a nuanced leadership assessment tool provided by Interlink Training and
Coaching. The tool's multifaceted approach dissects seven critical leadership dimensions:
Personal Stability, Productivity, Self-Management, Boundary Setting, Communication, Work
Quality, and Teamwork. These dimensions, as outlined by Thompson and Davis (2018),
encompass the integral attributes required for effective leadership in today’s complex and
ever-evolving business milieu.
As an integral component of my leadership course, this assessment transcended the
conventional boundaries of academic exercise, morphing into a conduit for profound self-
reflection and professional growth. The assessment, mirroring methodologies suggested by
Hughes, Ginnett, and Curphy (2019), provided a holistic view of my leadership style,
underscoring my strengths and spotlighting areas ripe for development. It catalyzed a process
of introspection, urging me to scrutinize and evaluate my leadership experiences through a
more analytical lens.
In the ensuing sections of this paper, I will delve into a detailed exposition of my
leadership style as illuminated by the assessment. Aligning with the theoretical frameworks
posited by Northouse (2021), this exploration will not only dissect the inherent attributes of
my leadership but also chart a course for future developmental trajectories. This endeavor is
pivotal, as robust leadership skills have been identified as critical catalysts for career
advancement and effective team dynamics (Williams, 2020). Through this analytical journey,
I aim to sculpt a pathway towards not just enhancing my leadership skills but also molding a

leadership persona that is adaptable, resilient, and conducive to the ethos of contemporary
organizational cultures.
Assessment of Test Result
Introduction to Test Results
The Leadership Assessment by Interlink Training and Coaching has revealed
insightful facets of my leadership style. This section unpacks the results, providing a detailed
look at my strengths and areas for improvement across the seven evaluated dimensions.
Personal Stability Personal stability is about staying calm and confident, even when things get tough.
The assessment showed that I have a good level of personal stability. I tend to remain
composed in stressful situations, which is vital for making clear decisions. However, the test
also suggested that I could work on being more confident in expressing my opinions during
conflicts.
Productivity The test results showed a good deal of productivity. I am very good at setting
objectives and keeping to deadlines, which is essential for overseeing projects from start to
finish. The assessment pointed out that I am effective in managing time and resources. Yet,
there's room to improve in delegating tasks more effectively to enhance team productivity.
Self-Management How well a leader arranges themselves and their obligations is a measure of their self-
management. I'm typically strong at self-management, according to my scores, but I still need
to work on improving my task-prioritization habits. This improvement can lead to more
efficient workdays and less stress.
Boundary

Establishing Boundaries, Having a good work-life balance and understanding when to
say no are key components of boundary establishing. The evaluation showed that I frequently
take on more than I can manage and that I occasionally struggle with setting boundaries. Not
only will learning to set limits enhance my wellbeing, but it will also help my team members
see me as a role model.
Communication Communication is an important thing in leadership. The test showed that I am a good
listener and clear in conveying my ideas. However, it highlighted a need to improve in giving
constructive feedback and in being more persuasive when necessary. Enhancing these skills
will make me a more effective leader.
Work Quality
My work quality is high, as per the assessment. I pay attention to details and strive for
excellence in tasks. To improve, I could focus on encouraging the same level of quality in
team members' work, ensuring that everyone's contributions meet high standards.
Teamwork The final area, teamwork, is about working well with others. The test results were
positive, showing that I am collaborative and supportive. However, the assessment suggests
that I could be more proactive in resolving team conflicts and fostering a more inclusive
environment.
Conclusion of Test Results In general, the Leadership Assessment has proven to be a useful instrument for
comprehending my leadership approach. It has emphasized my strong points, like
communication and productivity, and highlighted my areas for improvement, such defining
boundaries and handling disagreement. These insights are crucial for my development as a
leader, providing a clear path forward for improvement.

SWOT Analysis of My Leadership Traits
I made a customised SWOT analysis diagram based on my leadership qualities using
the evaluation results. My opportunities, threats, weaknesses, and strengths are all shown
graphically in this diagram.
My SWOT analysis shows that the main pillars of my leadership are my self-control,
productivity, communication, and personal stability. I excel in maintaining composure under
pressure and effectively managing both my tasks and time. However, I acknowledge that I
need to build confidence in conflict situations, delegate more efficiently, prioritize tasks
better, and set clearer boundaries. There is room for improvement in the calibre of work
produced by my team, in my ability to provide feedback, in my ability to handle
disagreement, and in my ability to encourage inclusion. I am aware of the external challenges
