2-1 Short Paper: Aligning a Healthcare Organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values to its Marketing Efforts
2
University Hospital: Temple University The university hospital I chose was Temple University. I chose Temple University as there is also a Temple medical center not too far away from the school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I was able to find their mission and values very quickly through a Google search. Temple’s mission is to “educate a vibrant student body and create new knowledge through innovative teaching, research and other creative endeavors” (Temple University). Temple’s value
is to represent the community and their purpose. “They are driven to educate, innovate and evolve” (Temple University). Hospital/Healthcare system:
Main Line Health; Paoli Hospital
The hospital/healthcare system I chose was Paoli Hospital, a main line health hospital which does an amazing job of helping their patients daily. I did not have any trouble pulling their
mission statement and values. “The mission of Main Line Health is to provide a comprehensive range of safe, high-quality health services, complemented by related educational and research activities, that meet health care needs and improve the quality of life in the communities we serve” (Main Line Health).
Not- for- profit community hospital: Ephrata Community Hospital Foundation
For this hospital, the mission and values section were not clear unless you read through their page. The mission and values section did not pop out to me until I started reading what their
hospital focuses on. Ambulatory surgery center: Premier At Exton Surgery Center

Better Fitness, Inc. (BFI), manufactures exercise equipment at its plant in Freeport, Long Island. It recently designed two universal weight machines for the home exercise market. Both machines use BFI-patented technology that provides the user with an extremely wide range of motion capability for each type of exercise performed. Until now, such capabilities have been available only on expensive weight machines used primarily by physical therapists.
At a recent trade show, demonstrations of the machines resulted in significant dealer interest. In fact, the number of orders that BF received at the trade show far exceeded its manufacturing capabilities for the current production period. As a result, management decided to begin production of the two machines. The two machines, which BFI named the BodyPlus 100 and the BodyPlus 200, require different amounts of resources to produce.
The BodyPlus 100 consists of a frame unit, a press station, and a pec-dec station. Each frame produced…
