Hemostasis is a process of preventing blood loss by blocking the blood vessel through clotting when an injury happens. It slowly stops the blood flow out of the blood vessel and promotes wound healing. “Hemo” represents blood and “stasis” stands for stopping. During this process, the liquid form of blood is replaced by a gelatinous form.
