Summary Introduction

Introduction:

ABO blood group in humans denotes that one, both or no antigens (A and B) are present on the surface of erythrocytes or red blood cells (RBCs). Agglutination is the phenomenon in which foreign RBCs clump together when antibodies bind to them. The RBC antigens promoting this clumping are called agglutinogens (A and B), and the antibodies binding them together are known as agglutinins (anti-A and anti-B).
