Option (b) is the correct option.

Explanation of Solution

It is given a point P in the graph in the question. Point P lies in the upper right corner of the scatterplot which then pulls the regression line up towards this point. This means that the regression line will become steeper and the slope of the regression line increases. We can also say that the point P is far removed from the rest of the data and the point does not lie with the other points in the area of the scatterplot. Thus, point P makes the data less linear. Also since the correlation coefficient measures the amount of linearization in the data then the point P decreases the correlation coefficient. Therefore, option (b) is the correct option i.e. point P increases the slope and decreases the correlation.
