Concept Introduction:
Freezing point depression is a colligative property and depends on the concentration of the solute present in a solution but not on the type of solute. Freezing point depression is directly proportional to the concentration of solute on the solution. So more the number of solute particles, more is the depression in freezing point of a solution.
