Glycogen is the analog of starch, and a polymer of glucose. It functions to store energy in plants. It's structure is almost similar to amylopectin of starch, but much branched than the starch. In this polymer, glucose residues are linked by −(1, 4) and a −(1, 6) glyosidic bonds.
