Concept introduction: The unit cell is the smallest part of any three-dimensional crystal system. Body centered cubic unit cell is formed when atoms are arranged at all the corners of the cube as well as at the centre of the body. A cube comprises of eight corner atoms.

A body centered cubic unit cell (BCC) comprises one atom at the center of the cubic unit cell other than the corner atoms.
A face centered cubic unit cell (FCC) comprises atoms at the center of each face of the cubic unit cell other than the corner atoms.
Voids are the empty spaces present within the unit cells. Each unit cell comprises of four octahedral and eight tetrahedral voids.
