Chapter 1.2, Problem 2CC
Summary Introduction

To analyze:

The relationship between vertical evolution and natural selection.

Introduction:

A series of progressive change of ancestors is the evolution and the vertical evolution is the evolution of new species from pre-existing ones by the accumulation of mutation. The heritable change is called mutation. Mutation alters the traits of organisms in such a way that an organism has er chance of survival and reproduction. Further, when a mutation causes such a beneficial change, the frequency of the mutation may increase in a population from one generation to the next. Thus, they select by nature for survival, and this is called natural selection. Sometimes the accumulation may be neutral or may be harmful.
