Microorganisms were the first life forms on Earth. They were present millions of years before humans. They survive and thrive on all natural and man-made habitats because of their unique life processes and their ability to adapt. Microorganisms have played a great role in creating and maintaining many ecosystems on Earth and have been instrumental in creating conditions that favoured evolution of more complex organisms.
