Ionic radius is the distance or radius between ion and nucleus of an ion. Sum of ionic radii of cation and anion is used to calculate the distance in an ionic crystal. Generally, ionic radii of the cation are smaller than its neutral atom. On the other hand, ionic radii of the anion are larger than its neutral atom.
