Introduction:

Some rulers do not begin with 0 at the edge, but it has few milli-meters at the edge toimprove the measuring accuracy.

The edge of the ruler starts to worn out over time, and also the first two milli-meters at the end of scale’s edge may also worn out over time if the scale is started at the sharp edge. That’s why, it becomes difficult to line up the object being measured to the end at times. So, the object can be accurately assessed by preventing these problems with an initial offset and can improve the precision of the readings as well.
