Sn1 is aunimolecular substitution reaction and is also called a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The order of the reaction is oneand rate of the reaction depends only on the reactant molecule

In Sn1 reaction, the formation of carbocation takes place. Sn1 reaction gives two products. One is retention of stereochemistry and the other is inversion of stereochemistry.

In Sn1 reaction, the bond between the carbon and the leaving group breaks first. Separation of the leaving group from the carbon generates a carbocation. The nucleophile attacks the electrophilic carbocation to form a bond.
