The temperature of the body is under the control of hypothalamus, which is situated in the brain. It controls the temperature by starting the heat-loss and heat-promoting actions in the body. Increase in the body temperature above the normal range is called hyperthermia and decrease in temperature below the range is known as hypothermia.
