Chapter 15, Problem 12CYU
Summary Introduction
To review:
The peripheral reflex along with its differences from spinal reflex.
Introduction:
The autonomic nervous system is responsible for the regulation of the visceral (internal) activities of the organs by the means of sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions. The sympathetic division is mostly activated during the fight or flight responses. The parasympathetic division brings the body fluids to their normal range and hence, reduces the heart rate and blood pressure. The visceral nervous system stimulates the function of the visceral organs by both sensory and motor neurons.
