A biological preparation which helps in the formation of active acquired immunity to a particular disease is termed as a vaccine. Vaccine accounts for a disease-causing microbe. The vaccine was first discovered by Edward Jenner. The vaccine is prepared by an antigenic substance or by the attenuated causative agents. This is used to provide the adaptive or acquired immune response against the infections.
