The response against pathogen by the defense mechanism present in the body is called immunity. The immune system prevents the body against a pathogen that causes infectious diseases. The immune system maintains the integrity of the organism by nullifying and finally removing the pathogens. There are two types of immunity that offer protection against foreign pathogens namely, active and passive.
