Mean of four groups are 60,70,70,and,80 . The size of all groups are same, which is 100 . Hence the combined mean of the scores of 400 students is given by:

  M=60+70+70+804=70

There are two groups with this score, group 2 and group 3 . Group 2 has lesser standard deviation. The standard deviation of scores of the total population 400 students will be less than or equal to the standard deviation of each of the groups. Hence the standard deviation of the total population of 400 students probably have a standard deviation of 12 or lesser. Hence we can say that group 2 with a mean of 70 and standard deviation of 12 would most closely resemble the total population of 400 students.
