Concept introduction:
Sublimation is a process in which a solid substance does not melt at an atmospheric process, and it directly undergo change into the gaseous state. Sublimation is used as a purification method for the organic compounds as follows:
- Vaporize without melting.
- Vaporize without decomposition.
- Vapor could be condensed back to solid.
For sublimation to occur, a solid must exhibit a highervapor pressure than usual vapor pressure andhave weak intermolecular force.
