Answer to Problem 3TE

In both, the colour computer monitor and television screen the images are made up of tiny dots called pixels.

Explanation of Solution

Pixels stands for picture element; these are very minute square shaped particles which make up a digital image. Millions of pixels combine to give a complete image. The size of pixel will determine the resolution of the image. Smaller the size of the pixel more will be the resolution of image.

Pixels show only one colour at one time but they are so minute that the light from screen results in mixing of these colours, showing different shades of image. Originally pixels show only red, green and blue colours, their orientation is changed as the image changes to show a multicolour image. If you view using a magnifying glass you can see the pixel particles individually.

Both the colour computer monitor and television screen show us digital pictures which are actually composed of the pixels.

Conclusion:

Images on both colour computer monitor and television screen are made up of pixels.
