There are mainly two types of nucleic acids that are present in human body known as DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid). Both of them are the polymers of repeating monomer units called as nucleotides. Each molecule of nucleotide contains three components, a five carbon sugar, a base and a phosphate group.
