After identification of sex-specific genes, plan the experiment to test the effect of these genes on the development of Drosophila sex organs.
Introduction:
The tissue and cell specific gene expression is a crucial feature of embryonic development in multi-cellular organisms. The spatial and temporal expression of gene patterns along with the extent of correlation of expression with function are under tight regulation. The embryonic expression patterns for different protein coding genes in the Drosophila melanogaster genome shows the detectable expression in embryo, like 20% patterned as early as in blastoderm stage. These specific genes are correlated with particular cellular and developmental functions.
