Chapter 2, Problem 27P

As depicted in Fig. P2.27, a water tank consists of a cylinder topped by the frustum of a cone. Develop a well-structured function in the high-level language or macro language of your choice to compute the volume given the water level h ( m ) above the tank's bottom. Design the function so that it returns a value of zero for negative h's greater than the tank's maximum depth. Given the following parameters. H 1 = 10 m, r 1 = 4  m,  H 2 = 5  m , and   r 2 = 6.5 m, test your function by using it to compute the volumes and generate a graph of the volume as a function of level from h = 1 to 16 m.

Q4) A capsule shaped tank is created by attaching two halves of sphere and a cylinder as shown in the figure. a) Write MATLAB script to find the diameter d that make the total volume of the tank equal to 12m?, find the dimeter with 0.001m accuracy, knowing that a-6m. b) Plot the relation between d and v. 4 sphere volume =ar %3D 3" cylinder volume = ar'a %3D
2. This problem has to do with the motion of a car along a straight road. The mass of the car is m, its drag resistance is Cd, the rolling resistance of the tires is pr. Choose any car that you'd like to analyze and obtain its data (cite your source). Look up typical values of rolling resistance. For the MATLAB portions, explore these questions for different values of mass of the car (which would depend on the number of passengers and luggage in the car) and the rolling resistance (which would depend on the inflation pressure of the tires) (a) Determine the differential equation if the car is traveling along a flat road. (b) Determine the traction force corresponding to speed ve. (c) (MATLAB) Determine the 0-60 mph time and distance. (d) (MATLAB) Determine the velocity and distance as a function of time if the car is to be started from rest and is supplied with the tractive force for 30 mph. (e) (MATLAB) If the car is travelling at a steady speed 30 mph and it's to be sped up to 60…
Pl. The volume of liquid, V, in a partially filled, horizontal, cylindrical tank of radius and length I is related to the depth of the liquid, h, at the center line of the cylinder by the formula v-[r³ cos (*=h) - (r-n)√2h-²³ - V- Develop a Python function to create a plot of liquid volume versus depth. Here are the first few lines: import numpy as np def cyltank (z, L,plot_title): create a plot of the volume of liquid in a horizontal, cylindrical tank from empty to full tank inputs: x = inside radius of tank L = length plot title string for title of plot Test your program with cyltank (3, 5, 'Volume vs. Depth for Horizontal Cylindrical Tank')
