  • [Cr(H2O)5Cl]Cl2
  • [Cr(H2O)4Cl2]Cl
  • [Cr(H2O)6Cl3]

When [Cr(H2O)6]Cl3 reacts with excess AgNO3 , the reaction occurs as,

[Cr(H2O)6]Cl3(aq)+3AgNO3(aq)[Cr(H2O)6]3+(aq)+3NO3(aq)+3AgCl(s)

So, here occurs precipitation of three molecules of AgCl .

When [Cr(H2O)5Cl]Cl2 reacts with excess AgNO3 , the reaction occurs as,

[Cr(H2O)5Cl]Cl2(aq)+2AgNO3(aq)[Cr(H2O)5Cl]2+(aq)+2NO3(aq)+2AgCl(s)

So, here occurs precipitation of two molecules of AgCl
