Concept explainers
The way to store different amounts of electrical energy in a capacitor.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
A capacitor is an electronic device that stores electrical energy. It is made up of two metal plates which when supplied power store energy in an electrical field.
Energy is stored in a capacitor in an electric field between the metal plates. Therefore, to store different amounts of charge in a capacitor, the voltage across the capacitor has to be changed.
Conclusion:
To store different amounts of charge in a capacitor the voltage across the capacitor has to be changed.
