Summary Introduction

Iron (Fe) is an important element which is found in the earth’s crust. It occurs in two oxidation state in the form of ferrous (Fe2+) and ferric (Fe3+) ions. Iron cycle comprise both oxidation and reduction reactions in nature. Biological oxidation of ferrous ions converts it into ferric oxidation state.
