Tetanus is an infectious disease of the nervous system caused by the bacteria, Clostridium tetani that initially causes stiffness of the muscles of the jaw and neck which later progresses to spasm of the entire body muscles. Fever, dysphagia, hypertension and tachycardia are the other symptoms of tetanus.
