Endotoxins are bacterial components which are present on the outer wall of the bacteria especially gram negative bacteria which plays an important role in inflammation. Endotoxins are pyrogenic in nature. Bacteria such as E.coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio cholera, Pseudomonas, Neisseria and Bordetella pertussis produces endotoxins.
