Interpretation:
The modern formulas for the given compounds are to be written. A method for conforming the number of chloride ions present in solution in each case is to be suggested.
Concept introduction:
Ligands are named first as per the alphabetical order followed by the metal atom.
The molecules or ions that surround the metal in a complex are called ligands.
If two or more identical ligands are present then Greek prefixes: di, tri, tetra, penta, and so on are used. The oxidation number of the metal is expressed in Roman numeral such as I, II, and III in parenthesis at the end of the name of the metal without any space between the name and the numeral.
