Chapter 24, Problem 7SQ
Summary Introduction
Concept introduction: Circulatory system helps to transport molecules and other substances from one system to another and also helps in gaseous exchange. Open and closed circulatory systems are two types of circulatory system. The open circulatory system has no difference between blood and interstitial fluid rather a common fluid is present called as hemolymph. The cells are directly bathed in blood unlike closed circulatory system where capillaries supply blood to the cells. In closed circulatory system, interstitial fluid and blood runs in two different tubes. The components of the blood and the system of arrangement of tubes differ between phyla.
