Question
Chapter 26, Problem 95IAE
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
Identify the chiral C atoms and assign R/S-configuration as well as E/Z-configuration to the double bond of Cholesterol molecule.
Concept introduction:
Cholesterol molecule is one of the well know biochemical compound. It is a cyclic compound that is composed of 4 rings with one double bond and one −OH group bonded on the ring. There are three side chains which are bonded on the ring. Out of these three side chains, there are two methyl groups and one substituted hexyl group.
