Leptin hormone is secreted by the adipose tissues and the small intestine. It functions in regulating the energy balance in the body by inhibiting hunger. It binds to the arcuate nucleus receptors present in the hypothalamus cells. Apples, green tea, almonds, and oatmeal food items are rich in leptin.
