Introduction: Chlamydia is an obligate intracellular parasite. It causes one of the most commonly prevalent STD (sexually transmitted diseases). Chlamydia is a gram-negative bacterium (does not retain Gram stain). This bacterium can be isolated from semen (infected) or vaginal fluid. Chlamydia can also be transferred from a pregnant female to her fetus.
