Each set: 24 bulbs, Series, R =6Ω

All sets operated from single outlet.

Formula used:

Equivalent resistance:

In series, RTotal=Ri

In parallel, 1RTotal=1Ri

As per Ohm’s law:

  V=I×R

Here, I is the current and R is the resistance.

Calculation:

  For single set

Resistance of each bulb =6Ω

Number of bulbs =24

Total resistance of each set

  =24×6=144Ω

As, all sets are operated from single outlet, all sets are in parallel.

   Total resistance of 12 sets in parallel

  1RT=121144

  RT=(12144)1

  RT=12Ω

Load in amperes can be calculated using Ohm’s law:

  V=IR

  V=120VR=12Ω

  I=12012I=10A

Conclusion:

The total load is 10A .
