Chapter 3, Problem 16P, The Rover 6 is a new custom-designed sports car. An analysis of the task of building the Rover 6

a) Draw a network diagram for the project.

b) Mark the critical path and state its length.

c) If the Rover 6 had to be completed 2 days earlier, would it help to:

i) Buy preassembled transmissions and drivetrains?

ii) Install robots to halve engine-building time?

iii) Speed delivery of special accessories by 3 days?

d) How might resources be borrowed from activities on the non-critical path to speed activities on the critical path?

You are creating a customer database for the Hillsboro Hops minor league baseball team. Draw a project network given the information in the table that follows. Complete the forward and backward pass, compute activity slack, and identify the critical path. How long will this project take? How sensitive is the network schedule? Calcu-late the free slack and total slack for all noncritical activities.ID Description Predecessor Time (days)A Systems design    None 2 B Subsystem A design A     1C Subsystem B design A 1D Subsystem C design A 1E Program A B      2F Program B C 2G Program C D 2H Subsystem A test E 1I Subsystem B test F       1J Subsystem C test    G 1K Integration H, I, J 3L Integration test        K 1
The managers at AllBirds have operations in multiple countries, which operate on different financial management systems. This has been increasingly challenging for the company, so the Justin is looking to consolidate and integrate the financial management across all locations into a single software system that can operate across the national boundaries. This is a new, complicated and lengthy project, so Justin has identified a set of activity categories that will need to be carefully managed, as noted in the table. Draw the project network, and compute the expected time and variance for each activity.  Develop an activity schedule for this project, compute activity slack time and identify critical path.
I'm having trouble creating a project network diagram. I don't understand calculating the time and total slack for each activity using forward pass and backward pass. Please explain how to draw and calculate a project network diagram.
