Interpretation:

Whether there is an increase or decrease in the motion of particles on increasing the temperature is to be stated.

Concept introduction:

Kinetic energy is defined as the energy that an object has as a result of its motion. It depends on the velocity of the object. It is related to the translational motion of the object. The matter has three physical states: solid, liquid, and gas. The particles in solid state have strong intermolecular forces of attraction between them; whereas, the particles in the gaseous state have the lowest intermolecular forces of attraction between them.
