Concept explainers
To describe:
There is a difference between the fat content of the milk for different mammals.
Introduction:
The mammals are the organism that carry the babies in their wombs and give birth to the young ones. In initial days, the young ones are fed by the milk produced in the mammary glands of these organism.
Explanation of Solution
The nutritional value of the milk of different animals varies according to the nursing period and the required growth rate of the animals. The animals that have a short nursing period delivers a high fat and protein content milk and the animals that have a long nursing period, they deliver a low fat and protein rich milk. The seal milk has 53% fat content, which help the young ones to grow quickly and become self-dependent for food. Similarly, dolphin secretes milk with 43% fat content that keeps the milk a little denser and does not allow the loss of milk in sea. Other mammal’s fat content is low as they have longer nursing period.
