Concept explainers
To determine:
The relationship between the doubling of the birth weight and protein content in milk.
Introduction:
The mammals are the organism that carry the babies in their wombs and give birth to the young ones. In initial days, the young ones are fed by the milk produced in the mammary glands of these organism. The dinosaurs were the huge organism that lived in past, they resembled reptile and mammals.
Explanation of Solution
The fossils evidences indicate that the time when the mammals and the dinosaurs were living together have small mammals. At that time the dinosaurs were very large and the major predators of the mammals. The small size of the mammals at that time allowed to hide in the places between the rocks and bushes. Dinosaurs due to large size were not able to reach the hiding places at that time. So, this way, the mammals escaped predation.
