Concept explainers
To determine:
The contrasting features of between the symptoms of disease caused bacteria and viruses.
Introduction:
In human body, microbes play very important role. There are some microbes, which are present in symbiotic relationship with human body and help humans in performing different processes. While there are some microbes, which can infect humans and may result in illness.
Explanation of Solution
The mode of symptoms caused by pathogenic bacteria and viruses are as follows:
Virus | Bacteria |
Most of the virus infect blood or repsiratiry tract. The symptoms of the infection include sore throat, high fever, body pain, malaise, congestion, runny nose, headache etc. | The bacteria may infect almost all parts of body, the respiratory tract bacterial infection cause stuffy nose, sore throat, coughing and in severe case they may cause fibrosis.
In the other places like in gut, they cause dysentery and vomiting. Lack of nutrient absorption may also cause fever and lethargy. |
