A 11 B. 17 C. 24 D. 36
Answer to Problem 43STP
C. 24
Explanation of Solution
Given information: The yogurt Shoppe sells cones in three sizes: small, $0.89; medium, $1.19; and large,$1.39. One day Santos sold 52 cones. He sold seven more medium cones than small cones. He sold $58.98 in cones.
Calculation:
Let the Yogurt Shoppe sold x small cones and y large cones. Since he sold seven more medium cones than small cones, therefore, the number of mediunm cones sold by him was x+7.
Total number of cones sold by him is 52.
Therefore,
He sold $58.98 in cones.
Therefore,
From equation (1), we have
From equation (2)
Thus, number of medium cones sold = x+ 7= 17+7 =24
