Chapter 42.4, Problem 2MI
Summary Introduction

SELEX (Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential Enrichment) is a combinatorial chemical technology and a ligand screening method that was developed in 1990. This method screens from libraries of DNA, RNA or sometimes peptides to determine oligonucleotides/ peptides that bind to a target substance with high specific affinity. These engineered molecules that are screened are known as aptamers which are found to determine their use in pharmaceutical and can be used as biosensors.
