The human heart is responsible for pumping blood to different parts of the body. The cardiac cycle is an important part of the circulatory system that controls the amount of blood released and received by the heart. The beating of the heart is followed by two periods that are known as systole and diastole. These two periods are responsible for the contraction and relaxation of the heart.
