Concept introduction:
An agent or molecule used to prevent or inhibit the growth and spread of cancer is called antineoplastic. Drugs, which are used to treat cancer is generally known as antineoplastic drugs or chemotherapeutic drugs or anticancer drugs (for example, oxaliplatin or methotrexate). Antineoplastic drugs are broadly classified into two based on targeting the phases of the cell cycle is cell cycle specific drugs and cell cycle non-specific drugs.
