Bevacizumab (Avastin) is a cell-cycle nonspecific antineoplastic drug (an angiogenesis inhibitor) used to treat colon cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, rectal cancer, and malignant glioblastoma. It prevents or suppresses the growth of cancer progression by inhibiting the formation of the blood vessels, which is essential to provide oxygen and nutrient to cancer cell growth.
