Introduction:

For sustainable usage of natural resources and flexible functioning of biodiversity conversation, biosphere reserve is divided into three zones. These zones are core zones, buffer zone, and transition zone.

Explanation of Solution

Core area or megareserve is the protected area that needs to be reserved and its ecosystem is needed to be maintained. Buffer zone surrounds the core area. Its activities may not hinder the objective of the core area. The main purpose of the buffer zone is to protect the core area.

Advantages −

1. Due to no hindrance, the population of birds will be good in core area.

2. Moreover, these birds are kept under observation, so every activity of these birds will be under surveillance.

Disadvantages −

1. In a small area, the population of birds may outgrow, which can lead to shortage of resources required for them to live.

2. These birds will be used of living in a confined area only, and hence, it may become difficult for them to survive in different environment.
